Please note Dreadlocks take time to mature, depending on your hair type/texture, they can take up to 4 – 8 months to fully mature.

Well maintained dreadlocks require regular maintenance, daily palm rolling, and consistent waxing and washing with dreadlock shampoo.

On the day your hair must be clean, dry and tangle free, you must give your hair two shampoos, but no conditioner within 24 hours of your appointment.

To dread your hair we will need approx 8cm to 15cm depending on your hair texture. Please note you will lose more length on skinny dreads as the hair compacts up more, the advantage with the skinny dreads is they do dry quicker, but, the fatter the dreads, the quicker they become mature , and maybe a little less maintenance required on your behalf.

You will find that some dreads do tend to fray ( come undone) a little, at the ends (max 2cm) over a period of a month after you have them done, but don’t panic , this is common too, they can be dealt with quite easily in a couple of ways.

All our Dreads are perfected by hand, with a hook, back combing and a tightening tool. No Glue or Stitching or Perm Solution or Rubber bands.

Before you leave us on the day it is important to have the proper dreadlock wax $18.95 and shampoo $21, needed to keep your dreads in check, while they are still young which is – Highly Recommended.

After Care Advice  

You should expect the dread to get worse before they get better; dreadlocks are not a overnight success and require lots of extra attention by you. Instead of combing or straightening your hair everyday, you must palm roll and wax your dreads. Depending on your hair type/texture your dreads may take, anywhere from 4 – 8 months to mature.

You are unable to wash your dreads for approx 7 -10 days after your new dreads. Other instructions will be given to you on the day.

Maintenance on dread should be an every 2 -6 months venture, depending on the age of the dreadlocks, naturally the newer the dread the higher the maintenance. If your dread are looked after while young, the dreads will only need attending too a couple of times a year, and they will receive great admiration later by all!
